Description of key information

The ready biodegradability of silatrizole was investigated in a GLP-compliant test conducted in accordance with EU Method C.4 and OECD Guideline 301B. Under the test conditions, silatrizole was found to be nonbiodegradable over the test period of 28 days which may be due to the limited bioavailability of the low-water-soluble test substance, although a highly effective method of dispersion was used.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
