Description of key information

The oxidizing properties of silatrizole were investigated in a GLP-compliant study conducted in accordance with EU Method A.17. The maximum burning rate of the test item/cellulose mixture was upper than the maximum burning rate with the reference item/cellulose mixture. As the test item showed conditions to be a "false positive", it is considered not to possess any oxidizing properties.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The maximum burning rate obtained with the test item was 3.704 mm/s for the test item/cellulose mixture (30/70%). The maximum burning rate obtained with the reference item was 3.571 mm/s for the reference item/cellulose mixture (60/40%). The maximum burning rate of the test item/cellulose mixture was upper than the maximum burning rate with the reference item/cellulose mixture. In order to show if the result was a false positive, additional tests were achieved. As an ignition and a combustion were observed for five test item/kieselguhr mixtures, and as the test item showed conditions to be a "false positive", the test item may be considered to be a "false positive" and not to possess any oxidizing properties.
