Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Move patient from contaminated area to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Keep under medical surveillance. In case of problems : Hospitalise.
Skin contact: No hazards which require special first aid measures.
Eye contact: No hazards which require special first aid measures.
Ingestion: No hazards which require special first aid measures.
Protection of first-aiders: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Attempt to close the gas outlet, then extinguish the flame by substitution with nitrogen directly to the leak after isolation
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Extremely flammable gas. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.
Advice for firefighters:
Specific methods: Cool containers/tanks with water spray. Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Ensure a system for the rapid emptying of containers. In case of fire, remove exposed containers. In case of burning leak, immediately isolate the circuit on either side of the leak. Stop the flow of gas if possible. Use water spray on person making shut-off. Keep upwind and operate from safe
distance Fight fire from a protected location.
Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. In enclosed areas : ventilate or wear a self-contained breathing apparatus (risk of anoxia). Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Prohibit inhalation of vapours. Without inflammation: Close the gas outlet, isolate the part that leaks, evacuate the area, only intervene after complete disappearance of the hydrogen obtained by purging with nitrogen. With inflammation: Avoid the entry of air, purge with nitrogen after isolation
Environmental precautions:
Do not let product enter drains.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Extremely flammable. Gas. With vapours explosive in air. Harmful. Handle substance within a closed system. Provide self-contained breathing apparatus nearby. Provide showers, eye-baths. Provide water supplies near the point of use.
Safe handling advice:
Never work alone. Well ventilate equipment before entering. Purge the installation with dry nitrogen before using. Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Do not confine the product between two doors. Provide non-return valves for the circuits. Provide electrical earthing of equipment and electrical equipment usable in explosive atmospheres.
Hygiene measures:
Prohibit inhalation of vapours. Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Conditions for safe storage:
Use immediately. Do not store.
Specific end use(s):
The substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Annex XI of Regulation EC 1907/2006.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls:
General protective measures: Ensure sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work areas. On each manufacture or use site, clearly-written substance-handling procedures should be available, kept up-to-date and their implementation controlled. Use material of high integrity for loading and unloading. Investigate engineering techniques to reduce exposures. Routine monitoring and inspections for leaks to reduce fugitive emissions. Frequently monitor and control the working atmosphere.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: Recommended Filter type: ABEK-CO, Mask type: Full mask. In case of leak, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Hand protection: Gloves
Eye/face protection: Safety glasses
Skin and body protection: Protective suit
Environmental exposure controls:
Use techniques to minimize emissions (incineration or any treatment to minimize level of release). Do not release into the environment.
