Description of key information

The end-point is waived. The vapour pressure of the 38% aqueous solution is expected to be comparable or slightly lower than water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The vapour pressure of the 38% aqueous solution is expected to be comparable or slightly lower than water.

The pure substance itself will exhibit negligible vapor pressure, based on its multiple carboxylic acid salt functionality. The 38% EDTA-Mn(NH4) aqueous solution has no ammonia smell (ammonia odour threshold is 0.45 mg/m3).

This is also supported by read-across data from a stucturally similar substance. The vapour pressure of Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, copper diammonium complex (EDTA-Cu(NH4)2), 55% aqueous solution at 20°C is 2.03 ± 0.05 kPa, which is slightly lower than that of pure water (vapour pressure of water is 2.23 kPa at 20°C).
