Description of key information

Henry’s law constant (HLC)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
280
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

There is no standard information requirement for data on Henry’s law constant (HLC) in accordance with REACH regulation. However, it is one of the most important factors in determining the environmental fate of chemicals. In general, for substances with HLC > 100 Pa- m3/mole volatilization is rapid.

The estimated values of 280 -285 Pa-m3/mole obtained from the application of US EPA developed HENRYWIN software correspond with the experimental published data for styrene. Therefore, the volatilization for styrene is rapid.
