Description of key information

The EC50 value after treatment with 3 Phenoxybenzylalcohol (13826-35-2) for different fungi was found to be as :
Trichoderma viride (18 mg per liter), Arthrobotrys botryosporu(30 mg per liter) , Fusarium oxysporum(50 mg per liter), Botrytis allii(8 mg per liter) , Prstaiotia sp(30 mg per liter). The value for chemical safety assessment has been considered to be 30 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
30 mg/L

Additional information

Toxicity to fungi was performed using different fungi species which are treated with 3 Phenoxybenzylalcohol at concentration ranging from 0 – 100mg per liter. Test compounds were added to molten potato dextrose agar mixed for 2 min on a rotary shaker and dispensed in agar plate which is then inoculated with 7 mm mycelial disc. After that plates were incubated at 25°C till the mycelia growth was reached to 50-75 mm. Plates were examined and 50% inhibition of growth were determined.

After experiment EC50 value after treatment with 3 Phenoxybenzylalcohol (13826-35-2) for different fungi was found to be as follows:

Trichoderma viride(18 mg per liter),Arthrobotrys botryosporu(30 mg per liter) ,Fusarium oxysporum(50 mg per liter),Botrytis allii(8mg per liter),Prstaiotia sp(30mg per liter)
