Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

EC50 (72h; measured; basis: growth rate and biomass) ≥ 0.55 mg/L; NOEC (72h; measured; basis: growth rate and biomass) > 0.55 mg/L for green algae species Scenedesmus subspicatus (new name: Desmodesmus subspicatus) [EU Method C.2]

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.55 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.55 mg/L

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance to aquatic algae has been determined in a test with Scenedesmus subspicatus (new name: Desmodesmus subspicatus) according to EU Method C.3. The EC50 (meas., 72h; growth rate & biomass) was ≥ 0.55 mg/L and the NOEC (meas., 72h; biomass and growth rate) > 0.55 mg/L. Hence, it can be stated that there is no toxicity in the range of the low water solubility of the test substance. Therefore, the test substance is considered not to be harmful to aquatic algae.
