PHOTODEGRADATION

DIRECT PHOTODEGRADTION

The registration substance does not absorb light >290 nm. Direct photolysis will therefore not occur under environmental conditions.

INDIRECT PHOTODEGRATION

The registration substance can react with OH radicals rapidly (primary degradation).

HYDROLYSIS

As the registration substance has ester functions abiotic and biotic ester cleavage is possible at different rates. The abiotic cleavage of esters under environmental conditions (pH 4 -9) is normally slow when compared to the enzymatic cleavage e.g. by microorgnisms in an OECD 301B CO2 Evolution test (see IUCLID Chapter 5.2.1) where rapid degradation occurs.
