Executive summary:

The substance was tested for flammability according to VDI 2263 sheet 1.

The product showed a smouldering fire when the flame of a gas burner was applied at ambient temperature. A propagation of the combustion was observed. The product did not melt.

The product burned with a flame when the hot wire was applied at ambient temperature. A propagation of the combustion was observed. The product did not melt.

The combustion behaviour of the product at ambient temperature is characterized by the burning index BZ 5 (burning with flame or spark generation).

Due to the fact that a propagation of the combustion was observed the burning rate had to be determined.

Preliminary test:

The burning time over a distance of 200 mm was 13:51 min. The burning time was above the limit of 2 or 4 min, respectively, therefore the main test to determine the burning rate did not have to be performed.
