Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Solvent Red 52 is highly insoluble in water with a water solubility of lower than 0.003 mg/L. The following results provide information on ecotoxicological behavior in the aquatic compartment.

6.1.1 Acute toxicity to fish:After 96 hours no toxic effects against fish were observed at the limit of water solubility under exposure conditions.

6.1.3 Acute toxicity to daphnia:Daphnia magna were exposed under static conditions for 48 hours to 10000 mg/L. No toxic effect was observed.

6.1.4 Chronic toxicity to daphnia:After 21 days of exposure no toxic effects against daphnia were observed at a test concentration of nominally 3.16 mg/L, corresponding to a time-weighted mean measured concentration of 0.030 mg/L, which reflects the maximum water solubility under exposure conditions.

6.1.5 Toxicity to algae:After 72 hours no toxic effects against algae were observed at the limit of water solubility under exposure conditions.

6.1.7 Toxicity to microorganisms:Solvent Red 52 showed 7.4 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at the highest test item concentration (10000 mg/L) and an EC50 of higher than 10000 mg/L was determined. Test concentrations are given as nominal concentrations.

All studies were conducted according to national and/or international guidelines. The toxicity studies are classified as acceptable and satisfy the guideline requirements.
