Description of key information

The relative self-ignition temperature of the test substance tantalum pentachloride has been tested according to EU Method A.16. No self-ignition occurred up to a maximum temperature of 400 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance has been heated to a maximum temperature of 400 °C at a rate of 0.5 °C/min. The temperature at the centre of the sample did not sharply rise above the oven temperature and no self-ignition occurred during the test.
