The absorbances of these standard solutions were taken at446 nm (λ max) and the standard curve was plotted between absorbance versus concentrations (mg/l). The spectrophotometer used for the analysis was UV-6300PC; make VWR.

Conclusions:
The water solubilitydetermination of test item 2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione;CAS No.19125-99-6 was done by spectrophotometric method. The water solubility was found to be 0.0507 mg/L at 28°C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility determination of test item 2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione (CAS No. 19125 -99-6) was done as per the OECD guideline 105 byspectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of (2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione of 19125-99-6 )in water was found to be 0.0507 mg/L at 28°C. This indicates the test substance to be insoluble in water.

Description of key information

The water solubilitydetermination of test item 2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione;CAS No.19125-99-6 was done by spectrophotometric method. The water solubility was found to be 0.0507 mg/L at 28-°C.

Additional information

The water solubility determination of test item 2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione (CAS No. 19125 -99-6) was done as per the OECD guideline 105 byspectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of (2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione of 19125-99-6 )in water was found to be 0.0507 mg/L at 28 °C.

Other supporting data from EPI suite modeling database estimates the solubility as 0.14 mg/L, which also indicates the marginal solubility or negligibly solubility in water.

Thus the test substance 2-butyl-6-(butylamino)-1H-benz[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione is concluded to be insoluble in water considering 0.0507 mg/L as the key value for safety assessment.
