Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
Dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide, foam.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Hazardous combustion products may include: carbon and nitrogen oxides.

Advice for firefighters:
Unsuitable extinguishing media : Water in jet
Protective equipment : Full protective and self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Ventilate contaminated area thoroughly.
Do not breathe: vapours, gas, fumes. Avoid contact with : skin, eyes and clothing.
Evacuate the area of all non essential personnel.
Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Remove ignition sources.

Full chemical protective combinaison.
Monogoggles with lateral protections.
PVC gloves gauntlet type.
Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Environmental precautions:
Prevent contamination of soil and water.
Shut off leaks, if possible without personal risk.
Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers.
Shovel into suitable container for disposal.
Retain washings as contaminated waste.
Inform the local authorities if this cannot be prevented.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using sand, earth, or other appropriate barriers.
Showel up and place in a labelled drum, sealable container for subsequent safe disposal.
Wash contaminated area with water providing that the aqueous effluent can be disposed of safely.
Observe all relevant local and international regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling:
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Do not breathe: vapours, gas, fumes. Avoid contact with : skin, eyes and clothing.
Keep container closed. Use local exhaust extraction.
Only use in well ventilated areas. Handle and open containers with care.
Wash thoroughly after handling. Never use air pressure for transferring product.
Electrically bond and ground all containers and equipment before transfer or use of material. Use of non-sparking or explosion-proof equipment may be necessary, depending upon the type of operation.

Storage:
Minimize sources of ignition, keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke.
Keep away from light. Avoid contact with: acids, bases and strong oxidizers.
Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated, cool and dry place.
