Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Flammability on the substance to be registered was assessed by EU Method A.10. described in the Regulation n. 440/2008.

The tested substance is not flammable.

Furthermore evidences connected to the long experience in handling of the substance confirms that no flammable properties have never been observed and reported up to now in the usual conditions of production, stock, transport and use.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the Regulation CLP 1272/2008, powdered, granular or pasty substances or mixtures shall be classified as readily combustible solids when the time of burning of one or more of the test runs, performed in accordance with the test method described in Part III, sub-section 33.2.1, of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, is less than 4 seconds or the rate of burning is more than 2,2 mm/s.

Criteria for flammable solids are:

Category 1: Burning rate test

Substances and mixtures other than metal powders:

(a) wetted zone does not stop fire and

(b) burning time < 45 seconds or burning rate > 2,2 mm/s

Category 2: Burning rate test

Substances and mixtures other than metal powders:

(a) wetted zone stops the fire for at least 4 minutes and

(b) burning time < 45 seconds or burning rate > 2,2 mm/s
