Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The water solubility for the substance Reaction products from the esterification of neopentylglycol with fatty acids, C16 -18 (even numbered) and C18 -unsatd. and fatty acids, C18 -unsaturated, dimers was deduced from similar substances with shorter chain length.

Tests are available for neopentyl glycol diheptanoate (CAS 68855 -18 -5) and neopentyl glycol dioctanoate (CAS 31335 -74 -7), for both substances the water solubility was determined to be <0.05 mg/L at 20 °C.

The target substance contains mainly diester constituents with the same neopentyl glycol backbone as NPG diheptanoate and NPG dioctanoate. The chain length of the target substance is longer than the chain length of both tested substances.

For analogue substances with the same structural backbone, water solubility is a property where increasing chainlength leads to decreasing solubility.

Therefore the water solubility can be deduced to be <0.05 mg/L at 20 °C.
