Description of key information

Due to constraints for the experimental determination of the partition coefficient for TCD-emulsifier, the weight-of-evidence approach considers a surrogate log Pow calculation based on water solubility and solubility in fat (log Pow = 5.94, Oebels 1991b) and an estimated value by QSAR calculation using EpiSuite 4.1/KOWWIN v.1.68.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
5.9
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The weight-of-evidence approach considers the QSAR estimated log Kow = 5.83 for TCD-emulsifier and the value of the surrogate log Pow calculation based on water solubility and solubility in fat (log Pow = 5.94, Oebels 1991b). Both values are in good agreement and might suggest an increased potential for adsorption and bioaccumulation at first tier.
