Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

This substance is the product of a reaction between Zircon (EC no 239-019-6) and sodium hydroxide. In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII section 9.1.6, long-term aquatic toxicity testing shall be proposed if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms. As silicic acid (H4SiO4), zirconium(4+) salt (1:1), reaction products with sodium hydroxide is not found to be toxic to aquatic organisms, the substance is not classified for environmental effects. Consequently, no chemical safety assessment needs to be performed for the environment. Therefore, long-term toxicity testing is considered not required
