Phototransformation in air

After evaporation or exposure to air, the substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Hydrolysis

According to two hydrolysis studies, the substance is hydrolytically stable. In addition, the substance is readily biodegradable.

The substance is photolytically stable in soil.

Biodegradation in water: screening tests

The substance is readily biodegradable according to OECD.

Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water

Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water is waived based upon REACH Annex IX Section 9.2.1.2 column 2 as 1) the substance is readily biodegradable.

Sediment simulation testing

Sediment simulation testing is waived based upon REACH Annex IX Section 9.2.1.4 column 2 as 1) the substance is readily biodegradable.

Soil simulation testing

A biodegradation report run to EPA on surfadone 14C-LP-100 in soil resulted a half-life of 1.3 days.

Adsorption / desorption

Adsorption of the substance to the solid soil phase is not expected under environmentally relevant conditions.

Henry's Law constant

From the water surface the substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere under environmentally relevant conditions.

Environmental distribution

Over time, the substance will preferentially distribute into the compartments water (30.7%), sediment (34.7%), and soil (34.3%).
