Description of key information

The test substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates. No effects occur within the range of solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study on the toxicity to aquatic invertebrates for the test substance itself is not available. However, data on an analogous substance are available. A short-term toxicity test according OECD 202 and GLP has been conducted (NOTOX 2002). Daphnia magna were exposed to the analogue substance for 48 h to a limit concentration. Due to the low water solubility a saturated solution has been used.

After 48 h no effects within the range of solubility have been observed. Therefore, the EC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L after 48 h.

To support the results of the analogue substance, a QSAR calculation using the test substance itself has been conducted. Also, the QSAR calculation showed no effects within the range of solubility and supports therefore the results from the analogue substance.

In overall conclusion, it can be stated that the test substance is not acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
