Administrative data

Endpoint:
toxicity to soil microorganisms
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
The reference substance is not directly applied to soil and in use as a plastic additive is firmly bound in a polymer matrix. Thus, exposure to soil through foreseeable use can be excluded. In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX in the absence of toxicity data for soil organisms, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. The equilibrium partitioning method has been used for assessing the hazard to terrestrial organisms. As the RCR found was below 1, no risk for the soil compartment is assumed and hence, testing of terrestrial organisms is not required.
