Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The EC50 of Z-acetate to D. magna is > 96 µg/L (40% immobilization at this concentration).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The short-term toxicity of Z-acetate to aquatic invertebrates was determined according to OECD TG 202 and in compliance with GLP criteria. The test was done using a cosolvent near the expected Z-acetate solubility limit in the test medium, at a concentration ca. 50 times greater than the pure-water solubility limit reported elsewhere in this dossier. Test substance concentrations were analytically confirmed and decreased throughout the test period. The result was therefore reported using the time-weighted average concentration. The test is considered reliable with restrictions. An earlier study was conducted far in excess of the water solubility limit, with no measurement of exposure concentrations. The presence of stable test substance emulsions was noted during test solution preparation. The earlier test was deemed to be not reliable, and the results of that test are not considered further.
