Additional information

In the study published by Wink, 1998 the bacterial growth inhibition of Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Serratia marcescens was determined. The IC100 of quinidine of all three Bacteria species is 3 mmol/L (973.25 mg/L). In conclusion, quinidine has antibacterial activity. In the experimental study published by Calleja, 1994 the EC50 of quinidine sulphate for Photobacterium phosphoreum was determined in saltwater for 24 h. The EC50 of quinidine sulphate is 473.19 mg/l. According to this, the EC50 of quinidine is 363.35 mg/L.
