The estimated values for the vapour pressure of quinidine calculated by using the Antoine method, Modified Grain method and Mackay method, using EPI Suite v.4.11, differ in a range of > 4.9E-010 Pa and < 2.8E-006 Pa. All used models are calculated for an ambient temperature of 25°C. The calculation of the vapour pressure by the software ChemProp showed a vapour pressure of 1.47E-005 based on the Antoine method, modified by Grain. The vapour pressure based on Watson method, modified by Grain is 1.0E-007 Pa. We assume that the Antoine method by EPI Suite v.4.11. and by ChemProp is the same. The differences between the two values result from different melting points and boiling points which were used for the calculation. Nevertheless, the highest vapour pressure of quinidine is 1.47E-005 Pa, reflecting the most conservative value. Thus, we consider the predicted value of 1.47E-005 Pa to provide an approximation of the vapour pressure, since empirical data has not been observed.
