Additional information

The substance is not readily biodegradable in a Manometric Respirometry Test according to OECD 301F. Hydrolysis studies of the substance indicate that test item is stable at pH 4, but hydrolyses at pH 7 and 9. Hydrolysis was fastest at pH 9 and 50°C, and slowest at pH 7 and 15°C. The substance has a half-life of 70.8 days at pH 7 and 25 °C. At pH 7 and 15°C, the half-life of the substance is 243 days. Although hydrolysis products have not been determined, it may be assumed - based on the chemical structure of the substance - that abiotic hydrolysis of the substance lead to the formation of the corresponding carboxylic acid. In view of the use of the substance, it is very unlikely that release to the aquatic environment will occur. Therefore, further testing on biodegradation in water and sediment is not justified.
