Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. According to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) criteria (as described in the Manual of Decisions for implementation of the 6th and 7th amendments, 2006, §13.2.3), and according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria and screening procedure (as listed in appendix 6 to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (5th revised edition, 2009) or in the ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, 2014, §R.7.1.11)), NO reactive group was identified in the chemical structure of the major components (alpha-pinene, delta-3-carene); minor components are structurally similar compounds, so should exhibit no potential either. Then explosive properties are not anticipated for cypress oil, and the acceptance procedure for Class 1 explosives shall not apply, no further testing is required. Moreover, according to CLP and UN criteria, no structural group associated with self-reactive properties is present, therefore subsequent classification shall not apply either.
