Modified algae growth inhibition test for dyestuffs. Due to the fact that the substance is a dyestuff it was decided to perform a modified algae growth inhibition test to differentiate between a real toxic effect of the test substance on the algal cells and an indirect effect by light absorption in coloured test solutions. Therefore two experimental parte were performed

All the results correspond to experimental part A (normal test procedure). Since hte criteria of the recommendations of the ad-hoc-meeting of "experts on algal growth inhibition tests for coloured test subtances (Vienna, 30-31 January 1996)" were not met, the EC values of test part A have to be used for the classification of the test substance.
