Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study is available and a literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach these values were evaluated.

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 109 using an oscillating densitometer. The mean relative density of the test item at 20 °C was determined to be 1.0317 g/cm3. The range of the relative density measurement of the different batches was reported to be from 1.0280 to 1.0330.

The Fokin, A.V. et al. (1979) as cited in REAXYS report the density of the test item to be 1.031 g/cm3 at 20 °C with respect to water at 4 °C. Furthermore the CRC Handbook (2008) reports the density of the test item to be 1.033 g/cm3 at 20 °C and the Morris, Horton H.(1057) as cited in Registry reports the density of the test item to be 1.0314 g/cm3 at 20 °C. All available literature sources report the density to be in the same range and support the value determined in the study. Nevertheless, no information about the test item purity was reported in the literature values. Thus, as the purity of the test item is directly related to the density, the literature values were regarded as reliable with resections.

The density of 1.0317 g/cm3 at 20 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment as it was from the most reliable study with known and assumed highest purity of the test item.
