Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an acute toxicity test performed in accordance with OECD TG 201 using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata,  the 96-h ErC50 value was > 1 mg/L and the NOErC  was 0.30 mg/L, based on nominal concentrations. The 72-h ErC50 was 0.61 mg/L and the NOEC was 0.09 mg/L. The 96 -h values override the 72 -h values, hence it may be considered that the ErC50 is higher than the water solubility and the NOErC is equal to the water solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.3 mg/L

Additional information

In a 96-hour algal inhibition study performed in accordance with OECD TG 201, EU Method C3 and US OPPTS 850.5400,

Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to the substance, dissolved in DMF, at nominal concentrations of 0.0081, 0.027, 0.09, 0.3 and 1.0 mg/L. The dose concentrations were chosen based on the results of a preliminary toxicity study. A blank control and a solvent control was run in conjunction with the final test. The study met the acceptability criteria and was considered valid.

The 96-h ErC50 value was > 1 mg/L and the EbC50 value was 0.69 mg/L based on nominal dose concentrations. The NOEC for growth rate and biomass was 0.30 mg/L. The 72-h ErC50 was 0.61 mg/L and the NOEC was 0.09 mg/L.
