The Particle size distribution is measured with a Cilas 1064 from Quantachrome. The sample is dispersed in de-ionized water by Ultrasonic vibrations. After dispersion the concentration is measured by a laser beam, and if necessary the dispersion is automatically diluted with de-ionized water. The particle size distribution is measured with the laser beam using the Laser diffraction method. From the measured Spectrum the particle size distribution is calculated using the Fraunhofer diffraction theory.
