600 µg/cm2: skin absorption

After a 1 hour contact with naked rat skin approximately 74% of the test material applied was recovered with 308.76 ug/cm2 found on the skin surface, 27.11 ug/cm2 found in the horny layer of the skin, 107.13 ug/cm2 found in the remaining skin tissue layers, and 0.04 ug/cm2 found in the chamber liquid.

After 6 hours contact with naked rat skin approximately 74% of the test material applied was recovered with 195.17 ug/cm2 found on the skin surface, 21.56 ug/cm2 found in the horny layer of the skin, 219.94 ug/cm2 found in the remaining skin tissue layers, and 3.96 ug/cm2 found in the chamber liquid.

After 16 hours contact with naked rat skin approximately 60% of the test material applied was recovered with 70.35 ug/cm2 found on the skin surface, 32.27 ug/cm2 found in the horny layer of the skin, 249.75 ug/cm2 found in the remaining skin tissue layers, and 7.48 ug/cm2 found in the chamber liquid.

The unrecovered test material was presumably lost by evaporation from the skin surface.
