Description of key information

The 72-h ErC50 of 4.54 mg/L and the 72-h NOErC of 0.883 mg/L in Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata are used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
4.54 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.883 mg/L

Additional information

One GLP compliant OECD Guideline 201 study is available with Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata for growth inhibition of delta-damascone in algae (Huntingdon Life Sciences Ltd, 2009d). The concentrations were analytically verified. The 72-h EbC50 and NOEbC were 2.47 mg/L and 0.38 mg/L, respectively, the 72-h ErC50 and NOErC were 4.54 mg/L and 0.883 mg/L, respectively. The effect concentrations based on growth rate are used in the assessment.
