Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:

Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: No guideline followed
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
A particle size (PS) distribution of F-2200 LOT # 290110772 was measured using Mastersizer 2000 (Malvern Instruments). 1 gr. sample was added to 10 ml of 4% Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate aqueous solution. A suspension obtained was added to water and then sonicated for 3min.

Conclusions:
10% of the volume distribution is below D 10 = 10.9 µm, 50% of the volume distribution is below
D 50 = 128.2 µm and 90% of the volume distribution is below D 90 = 508.4 µm:

Description of key information

Brominated Epoxy having Epoxy Equivalent of 400 gr/eq PSD

Additional information

Brominated Epoxy having Epoxy Equivalent of 400 gr/eq is an oligomeric mixture. Hence, the substance appearance is composition depended. A typical composition forms a light-yellow viscous waxy solid with unidentified particles. A substance composition containing 92% of the n=0 component (F-2200) is a solid with identified particles which exhibit the following PSD:

10% of the volume distribution is below D 10 = 10.9 µm,

50% of the volume distribution is below D 50 = 128.2 µm

90% of the volume distribution is below D 90 = 508.4 µm.
