Description of key information

Waiving of study:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the auto flammability (required in section 7.12) does not need to be conducted as chlorine is a gas having no flammable range. Chlorine is an inorganic non-flammable gas and therefore the test is not applicable. Moreover, it is classifed as an oxidiser.
Chlorine is very active under specific conditions but it is not explosive or flammable. It is able to form flammable mixtures with hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
