HMD is used only in the industrial area including the single worker exposure. Hence, consumers are never exposed to the test substance.

HMD is classified as corrosive. Therefore, the non-irritant concentrations of HMD are likely to be too low for testing in a sensitisation study as LLNA. Existing human information does not allow firm conclusions, due to limited documentation and co-exposure to other substances.

The industrial risk management measures applicated for the corrosive properties of HMD will also protect from a sensitisation potential of HMD.
