Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
22 July 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Flash point measured using a manual Pensky Martens Closed Cup apparatus. The sample was heated to 150 ºC, and an ignition source was introduced. The sample was then heated slowly, with the ignition source re-introduced at 10 ºC intervals, until a flash point was observed.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
closed cup
Key result
Flash point:
> 210 - <= 220 °C
