Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No effects up to the limit of water solubility (ErC50 > 0.00253 mg/L and NOEC = 0.00253 mg/L, mean measured concentrations, centrifuged test solutions) for P. subcapitata (OECD 201)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study is available on the toxcity of 1,2-Benzenediol, 3,5-dialkyl-, 1,2-dicarboxylate to algae, and was used as key study. The test was conducted as a limit test according to OECD guideline 201 and GLP (Lehman, 2012). The test organism Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was exposed to the test substance in a static system for 72 hours at the nominal test concentration of 100 mg/L (corresponding to a mean measured concentration of 0.00253 mg/L). Undissolved test material was separated through centrifugation. There were no significant differences between the control and the treatment with the test substance. The NOEC, based on growth rate and mean measured concentrations, was determined to be 0.00253 mg/L and the EC50 > 0.00253 mg/L, implying that no effects occured up to the limit of water solubility.
