Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In order to assess the potential toxicity to aquatic plants of the Acid Brown 365 (ABr365) the available data on the structural analogue 02, the variable sodium salt form were considered.

The inhibitory effects based on the average specific growth rate and the yield (absolute increase in plant size) to the duckweed Lemna minor was investigated over a period of 7 days. The test was performed at concentrations of 20, 200 and 2000 mg/l of the active ingredient. Taking into account a purity of 88.02 %, nominal concentrations of 22.7, 227 and 2270 mg/l, respectively, were prepared. No chemical analysis of the test concentrations were performed, nevertheless considering that the substance is a strong acid it is expected that it would be stable in water for the whole test period. The median effect concentrations of the test item to Lemna minor with respect to growth rate (ErC50) and yield (EyC50) were estimated to be 22.7–227 mg/l nominal concentration and the no-observed-effect concentrations were lower than 22.7 mg/l nominal concentration (REACH&Colours Kft, 2014).
