Description of key information

The 48h-LC50 for aquatic invertebrates was determined to be 4.53 mg/L for the freshwater species Ceriodaphnia dubia (Warne & Schifko, 1999) and 2.08 mg/L  with 100 % active ingredient for the marine species Acartia tonsa.

Additional information

A LC50 of 4.53 mg/L was published for the freshwater invertebrate species Ceriodaphnia dubia, which is not identical to Ceriodaphnia dubia, after an exposure duration of 48 h (Warne & Schifko, 1999). The test method was similar to OECD Guideline 202. A test with the marine copepod Acartia tonsa following Guideline ISO/TC 147/SC5/WG2 resulted in a 48h-LC50 of 5.5 mg/L with 37.9 % active ingredient and 2.08 mg/L for 100 % substance (Torp, 1997).

Furthermore, several results for Daphnia magna are published with LC50 ranging from 9.26 mg/L to 19 mg/L. The LC50 for Daphnia pulex resulted in 26 mg/L. However, the study duration of these publications was 24 h only instead of 48 h as recommended by current standard guidelines.
