Additional information

Several reliable measured flash point values are available for the registered substance. A measured flash point value of 42°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a rapid equilibrium method in accordance with ISO 3679 test method and in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

In other reliable studies, flash point values of 38.5°C, 46.5°C and 50 - 51°C were determined for the substance using relevant closed-cup methods. Differences in flash point may be as a result of differences in purity of the substance and the test method used. However, the supporting studies are in agreement with the key study that the substance is a flammable liquid. The key study is selected as the study that is most recently conducted.

In a secondary source to which reliability could not be assigned, an open cup flash point of >40°C was reported for the substance.

A flash point value of 42°C at 1013 hPa and a measured boiling point of 237.2°C at 1013 hPa indicate that the substance should be classified for flammability (Category 3) in accordance with the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
