In an OECD test guideline 209 study the test subtance, 4,4'-Isopropylidenedicyclohexanol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, was not inhibitory to activated sludge upto a concentration of 1000 mg/L. Therefore, the test substance is not anticipated to inhibit the activity of waste water treatment plants.

The 72 hr acute algae static EC50 value for the test substance was > 100 mg/L in an O.E.C.D 201 study. The 48 hr Daphnia EC50 value for the test substance was 18.3 mg/L. The rainbow trout O.E.C.D. 203 study static 96 hr LC50 value was 11.5 mg/L. Therefore, the rainbow trout LC50 value of 11.5 mg/l is most appropriate for the derviation of PNEC values for the test substance.
