Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information : Not expected to present a significant hazard under anticipated conditions of normal use.
First aid measures
- Inhalation : Remove victim to fresh air. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).
- Skin contact : Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water. May produce skin irritation. Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persist.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water. May cause eye irritation. Obtain ophthalmologist attention if pain, blinking, tears or redness persist.
- Ingestion : Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice.
Note to physician : Treat symptomatically. Repeated or prolonged skin contact may cause irritation.
Fire-fighting measures
Flammable class : Not classified as flammable but will burn.
Hazardous combustion products : Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media : Foam. Water spray. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Sand. Do not use a heavy water stream.
Surrounding fires : Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers.
Protection against fire : Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Do not breathe vapour. Equip cleanup crew with proper protection.
Technical measures : Avoid the generation of airborne dust. Eliminate every possible source of ignition.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Environmental precautions : Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters.
Clean up methods : Do not use water for cleaning. Collect spills and put it into appropriated container.
Recover and reclaim or recycle, if practical. Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations.
Handling and storage
General : Avoid the generation of airborne dust. Do not breathe dust. Do not breathe vapour.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Personal protection : Wear recommended personal protective equipment.
Technical protective measures : Use special care to avoid static electric charges. Provide proper grounding.
Storage : Keep container closed when not in use. Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
Storage temperature : < 50°C
Storage - away from : Oxidizer. Strong acids. Strong bases. Direct sunlight. In case of food use, do not store together with harmful, toxic or very toxic products.
Handling : Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work.
Packing : Paper bags with polyethylene liner. Fibre keg. Big-bag.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Respiratory protection : Where excessive dust may result, use approved respiratory protection equipment.
- Hand protection : Use PVC gloves.
- Skin protection : If skin contact or contamination of clothing is likely, protective clothing should be worn. Use safety shoes resistant to chemical products.
- Eye protection : Safety glasses with side guards should be worn to prevent injury from airborne particles and/or other eye contact with this product.
- Ingestion : When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Hygiene mesures : Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work. Wash clothing before re-using.
Technical protective measures : Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to dust.
Occupational Exposure Limits : 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol: TWA (EH 40 WEL) [mg/m³]: 10
2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol: TWA (US) [mg/m³]: 2. Inhalable fraction and vapour.
Exposure controls of environment : In accordance with local and national regulations.
Stability and reactivity
Stability and reactivity : Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Hazardous decomposition products : On exposure to high temperature, may decompose, releasing toxic/flammable vapours.
Materials to avoid : Strong acids. Oxidizing agent. Alkali Solution.
Conditions to avoid : Sources of ignition. Heat. Decomposes above 100 °C. May decompose upon contact with : Strong acids.
Disposal considerations
General : Avoid release to the environment. Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations.
Disposal method : Recover or recycle. If not possible burn in an approved incinerator.
Contaminated packaging : Packaging which cannot be decontaminated should be disposed of like the material.
