Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution of test item in water has been determined to be 70.8 ± 1.0 mN/m at 21.3 ± 0.5 °C. The test item was considered to be not surface-active.

Executive summary:
The determination was carried out by a ring method, using a procedure designed to be compatible with that specified in Method A5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Apparatus:                  White Electrical Institute Co. Ltd.Model “OS”torsion balance for surface and interfacial tension

measurements. The measuring body consisted of a 4 cm circumference platinum (Du Nouy) ring.

Purified Water:          Reverse osmosis water with a resistivity of greater than 15 MΩ.

Conclusion

The surface tension of a 90 % saturated solution of test item in water has been determined to be 70.8±1.0 mN/m at 21.3 ± 0.5 °C. The test item was considered to be not surface-active.
