Based on flash point and boiling point the substance octanoic acid, methyl ester (CAS 111-11-5) is a non flammable liquid.
Based on experience in handling and use as well as an assessment of the chemical structure, pyrophoricity and flammability when in contact with water is not expected.

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:
