Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adequate chronic and acute toxicity data are not available for AP 1300 S, therefore the ecotoxicological assessment is mainly based on the water solubility. Since the substance is highly insoluble in water, the aquatic compartment is considered to be of non-concern and the relative PNECs have been not considered.

On the contrary, the PNECs for the sediments and soil have been derived, in order to a precautionary approach. Because no experimental data are available for sediment and soil compartments, the PNECs' calculation was performed using the equilibrium method. This method involves the PNEC water for aquatic organisms and the sediment/water partitioning coefficient as inputs.

As abovementioned, the substance is highly insoluble in water, thus, in order to a precautionary approach, the reference value for insoluble substances (i.e. 0.01 mg/l) has been chosen as representative for the PNEC water calculation. For toxicity to microorganisms the EC50 (3h) was determined to be 1000 mg/l.

Conclusion on classification

Adequate chronic toxicity data are not available; The substance is not readily biodegradable and is highly insoluble in water (< 20 µg/l).

On the basis of the available toxicity data (Short-term toxicity on invertebrates: No toxicity potential was observed at the limit of solubility), AP1300S does not need any classification to the aquatic environment according to the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008).
