Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Due to its physical properties Isopropyl chloride volatalizes rapidly form water and long term exposure of aquatic organisms does not occur.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on its vapour pressure [652 hPa at 25°C] and large Henry’s Law constant [1770 Pa m3/mol at 20°C], the substance is expected to volatise from water and soil to the air. The Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, Appendix R.7.1 -4 indicates that substances with a Henry's Law constant of around 100 Pa m3/mol will volatilise from water rapidly. As a result, the substance is expected primarily to partition to the atmospheric compartment and long term aquatic testing is not warranted due to lack of exposure.
