Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The material from regular production was tested according to OECD method No. 103 and found to have a boiling point of 36.2 °C at 1013 hPa. This result is supported by two separate TGD-approved handbooks agreeing that the substance has a boiling point of 35 °C being in the same range.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
36.2 °C

Additional information

Information regarding boiling point of IPC was sourced from two separate handbooks. Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of Chemicals, Drugs, and Biologicals (14th Ed.) and CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (81st Ed.), which are known to contain peer-reviewed data of Klimisch-2 reliability state that the substance boils at about 35°C at an atmospheric pressure of 1013 hPa (corresponding to 308.15 K at 101300 Pa). For confirmation a regular sample form production was measured according to OECD method No. 103 and a boiling point of 36.2 °C was determined at 1013 hPa. This value is considered as key value for this endpoint.
