Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a 72-hour static GLP test with the green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus according OECD guideline 201, the algae toxicity of Prop-2-yn-1-ol was investigated (BASF AG, 2006). The test is valid. The validity criteria were checked after the statistical re-evaluation using ToxRat Pro v3.3 (BASF SE, 2022). For the endpoint growth rate an EC50 (72h) > 100 mg/L was calculated. The EC10 was calculated to be 79.4 mg/L. Since the recovery rates of the test substance were in a range of ±20% of the nominal concentrations, the effect concentration can be expressed relative to the nominal concentration.

It can be concluded that the substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to algae. Long-tem effects on algae are not to be expected.
