Several studies were conducted.


A Falling weight test (sensilivity to impact), Lead block test according Trauzl and Steel sleeve test showed no results.


Three studies according to Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, third revised edition, Test 1 (a), 2 (a) and A.5 (UN GAP test) determined that the substance has "not" the ability to propagate a detonation.


A study according to EC-Guideline 92/69/EWG, Annes A 14 showed no results for sensitivity to impact.


A Koenen test according to Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, second revised edition, Test 1(b) or. 2(b) (at question according to Classification in class 1) or. E.1 (at question according to Classification in class 4.1) showed "no" effect on heating under defined confinement.


Taking into consideration all the results of the single studies propargyl alcohol is considered not to be explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Annex I, Section 2.1 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and UN GHS Rev 6 (2015) the substance has not to be classified as explosive in class 1.
