Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The dynamic viscosity of the substance was determined to be 1.31 mPa*s at 20 °C and 0.94 mPa*s at 40 °C.

The kinematic viscosity of the substance was determined to be 1.27 mm2/s at 20 °C and 0.93 mm2/s at 40 °C.

Additional information

A GLP study was conducted in accordance with the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals 114 "Viscosity of liquids" using a capillary viscosimeter for determination of the kinematic viscosity and the dynamic viscosity was calculated by multiplication of the kinematic viscosity with the density. The GLP study determined the dynamic viscosity of the substance to be 1.31 mPa*s at 20 °C and 0.94 mPa*s at 40 °C and the kinematic viscosity of the substance to be 1.27 mm2/s at 20 °C and 0.93 mm2/s at 40 °C.

This was supported by Amis; Choppin; Padgitt, they reported the dynamic viscosity to be 0.013133 P (1.3133 mPa*s) at 20 °C in the Journal of the American Chemical Society.

the value from the GLP study was chosen as kex value for the viscosity.
