Additional information

The submitted acute oral and dermal toxicity studies have been tested with isomenthone, i.e. a main component of the registered reaction mass with a concentration up to 35%. An oral LD50 = 2119 mg/kg bw and a dermal LD50 > 5 ml / kg bw have been determined for isomenthone.

Isomenthone is a stereoisomer of the other main component L-menthone (with a concentration up to 55% in the reaction mass) and due to its high structural similarity, its acute toxicity potential can be considered comparable.

Other components of the reaction mass do not have an impact on the classification of this reaction mass due to its concentrations and/or hazard profile.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The present data on acute oral and dermal toxicity do not fulfill the criteria laid down in 67/548/EEC and regulation (EU) 1272/2008, and therefore, a non-classification is warranted.
